Uttarakhand CM opens three new gates for Corbett

Sh. Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand inaugurated two new gates for Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) and one for Lansdowne Forest Division in Kotdwar, thus reducing distance between Delhi and the sanctuary by 40 km. Tourists, including 13 foreigners, entered the reserve in six gypsies after the launch.

The CM said that the new gates will boost tourism for the state and visitors will have more locations to explore. "Till now, Kotdwar was the gateway to Garhwal, but now it has become the gateway for development in the state." On Monday, the CM also laid foundation stones for different projects worth Rs 960.77 lakh in Kotdwar.

Apart from the existing entry gate at Ramnagar, three gates have been opened at the Kotdwar side of the reserve — Pakhro, Kolhuchaur and Rathwadhar. The gate at Kolhuchaur will facilitate entry to the Lansdowne forest division.
